Refractory material refers to good fire resistance and heat resistance. So we can think about the better refractory materials?

High temperature resistant materials include refractory materials and heat resistant materials, including inorganic compounds and polymer materials.

Refractory materials usually refer to inorganic materials that can withstand temperatures above 1580 ℃. They are used to build kilns, combustion chambers and other high temperature resistant building materials. It is generally made of refractory cement and magnesia bricks such as quartz sand, clay, magnesite and dolomite. Inorganic refractory and heat-resistant materials in a broad sense refer to compounds with high hardness, good brittleness, good chemical corrosion resistance and melting point above 1500. It is mainly divided into metal and non-metallic compounds and non-metallic intermetallic compounds.

The former includes refractory metals such as tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, niobium, vanadium, chromium, titanium and zirconium, as well as boride, carbide, nitride, silicide, phosphate and sulfide of rare earth metals; The latter includes boron carbide, silicon carbide, boron nitride, silicon nitride, boron phosphide and silicon phosphide.

The latter has very important applications, such as high-temperature refractory materials (such as abrasives, molds, nozzles, high-temperature thermowells), heat-resistant materials (such as rocket structural parts, nuclear engineering materials, electric heating elements), and electrical materials (such as high-temperature thermocouples, igniters, etc.). In addition, it can also be used as chemical corrosion resistant materials and hard materials. Heat resistant polymers can be used as high temperature resistant film insulation materials, high temperature resistant fibers, high temperature resistant coatings, high temperature resistant adhesives, etc. They can be divided into transient high temperature resistant materials and long-term high temperature resistant materials according to the high temperature resistant time. The former can withstand several seconds to several minutes at 1000~10000 ℃. Ablative materials are also high temperature resistant materials. For example, it can maintain mechanical strength and chemical corrosion resistance in air at 300-600 ℃.

Stainless steel is a very good product in refractory materials. The metal decorative mesh is woven of stainless steel, which has good fire resistance and high temperature resistance.
